Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and respect the lives of individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized plans, treatment programs, training initiatives, and behavioral goals.
  • Provide one-on-one support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication management.
  • Document daily observations, progress notes, and case updates with feedback on strengths, skills, and areas for growth, in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Help individuals develop social, behavioral, housekeeping, and daily life skills while encouraging independence.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and skill-building support during structured activities.
  • Encourage participation in recreational, social, and community activities based on individual preferences and goals.
  • Facilitate community engagement through outings and experiences that promote interaction, personal growth, and skill development.
  • Support individuals in establishing and maintaining social networks and meaningful community connections.
  • Build rapport and foster safe, supportive, and respectful relationships.
  • Advocate for participants by protecting their rights, respecting their choices, and ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Ensure health and safety by following all established protocols and responding appropriately to medical or behavioral emergencies.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care and support.
  • Assist individuals in performing household cleaning responsibilities as part of daily living skills.
  • Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, shopping, community events, and other outings.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
